6/1/24 - So It Begins...

Just to let you know what to expect whenever I do start filling this page; I'm a straight, conservation Christian. I do not hate anyone, only sin. The Bible is my roadmap to life (Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth).

In America, brave men & women have died for our inalienable, God-given rights as enumerated in the Constitution. The most important of those rights is the 1st Amendment:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

I will probably say something that people don't like occasionally. Please remember, just because you don't like something someone says or may be offended by it, doesn't make it hate speech. It's called disagreement & that's fine. Until recently it seems, you could disagree with someone for some reason & still be friends or at least civil to each other. All my friends & acquaintances do not have the same beliefs as me & that's fine. We all have something in common that brings us together, God, guns, America, airplanes, food, work, etc.

With everything going on in the world today, we could, at the very least, be more friendly to people we interact with in our daily lives. It is important to stay informed as to what's going on in the world, but don't let the news stress you out. Take a break. I try to limit my intake as much as possible. It's like anything else, enjoy it in moderation.

It’s hard to believe that it is already June 2024. It seems like the year just started & now it’s almost half over. The year started out in a bad way & proceeded to get worse through February. My Mom passed away suddenly Jan 9 & the 4 other people from out circle of family & close friends passed away. Mom’s funeral was a celebration of her life with friends & family, some whom we had not seen in a very long time. There was some crying, but there was even more laughter as we fondly remembered Mom’s past & relived some stories. Overall, it was a good time for it being a funeral. Whether some you loves passes suddenly or slowly, it still hurts. It’s either the shock of it happening or the stress of wondering every time your phone rings. We did find comfort in God though & He got us through it all. There are still moments occasionally, but those are expected. Dad’s doing fine adjusting to his new normal & keeping busy. God is good all the time & all the time, God is good! There were to songs that were relatively new at that time that really helped too. The first song is Faithfully by TobyMac:

The second is Strong by Anne Wilson:

We just celebrated Memorial Day this past week & the one quote that really stood out to me was from Carl Higbie from Newsmax: “Someone gave up all their tomorrows, so that we could have all of our todays”. Wow, that is so true!

As far as the next installment of this blog, TBD. Between work, trying to find a new job, helping my wife with our new business & other life events in general, time gets away from me way too easily. Hopefully it’ll be soon though. We are excited for the start of Season 4 of The Chosen this Sunday. We saw it in the theaters earlier this year & WOW! It was so good! If you haven’t seen The Chosen yet, check it out.  That’s it for now. Take care & God bless!
